It took a long 18 months of closed doors to ensure the safety of our employees and visitors. The riverside communities at Mamirauá Reserve managed to remain safe during the pandemic - and of course the decision to keep the Uakari Lodge closed during this period was fundamental for that.
Even so, our team will take all measures to ensure that your visit is safe and that the residents of Mamirauá Reserve are not exposed to any risk. Therefore, we have developed with some of the best biosafety consultants in Brazil the measures so that our recovery is safe. A summary of these measures can be found in our Manual, available on our website and accessible at this link.
Even with full immunization and two doses of vaccine against COVID-19, our team respects the biosafety protocols for tourism activities at Mamirauá Reserve.
We are also proud and happy to finally be able to welcome our visitors to the new experiences of Uakari Lodge: “In the Footprints of Henry Bates”, a scientific expedition that rebuilds the experience of this important British naturalist who dedicated part of his studies of fauna and flora at what today is Mamirauá Reserve; and “Uakari + Amazon Emotions”, a 07-night expedition that departs from Manaus and passes through two very different scenarios in the Amazon: the floodplain of Mamirauá and the mountains and waterfalls of Presidente Figueiredo region.
In the program “In the Footprints of Henry Bates” we get to know important places in the city of Tefé, which was home to this British naturalist for many years throughout the 18th century.
